The beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico are just a few of the sites which bring excitement and fun to our visitors.  After a few hours in the tropical sun on South Padre Island, check out the historic Lighthouse in Port Isabel.  Climb to the top of the Lighthouse and enjoy the wonderous views.  Be sure to plan a visit to the South Padre Island Golf Club stretching along the coastline of the Laguna Madre Bay.  A shopping trip to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico, is a thrill-filled adventure everyone should experience.  Other places of interest in the Rio Grande Valley include the Los Ebanos Hand-Drawn Ferry to Mexico, the Santa Maria Bull Ring in La Gloria, the Bluffs of Roma, the replica of Our Lady of Lourdes in Rio Grande City, the Basilica de la Virgen de San Juan, the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, the Resaca de la Palma State Park, the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge, and be sure to drive along historic St. Charles Street in Brownsville.

A grandfather's pride...My granddaughter, Heather Wagoner, bottom row - first girl on the left, is truly a champion on the softball team in Huntington Beach, California.  My son, Tony Wagoner (her father), second coach from the left, has worked very hard to help the team to be one of the better softball teams in the area.  Tony is a Los Angeles County Firefighter.  I am so proud of both of them..."Grandpa Rex"
